SAFETY VALVE 3/8"-10KG

SAFETY VALVE 3/8"-10KG

Information

Safety valves have been designed and manufactured to be used exclusively with compressed air free of impurities. The materials used in the manufacturing process are suitable for the valve's operation at the specified pressures and temperatures. The Viton or NBR seal retains its resistance characteristics even after prolonged use. The closure weld of the valve prevents modification of its adjustment: it is prohibited to tamper with the valve and/or modify the adjustment value determined by the manufacturer.

Installation

The installation of the valve must be carried out exclusively by technically qualified personnel, responsible and in good health. It is mandatory to check the integrity of the valve before installation, ensuring that the PS pressure of the valve is not higher than the operating pressure of the tank or installation it is designed to protect. Check that the outlet flow rate of the valve is greater than the amount of air that needs to be discharged. The safety valve must be placed directly on the tank in a vertical position, in a dry and accessible location, protected from impacts and atmospheric agents, away from liquids or condensates. Its position should ensure free space around it to allow for proper air discharge without causing damage to people or property. Consequently, the valve stem must be able to move freely during discharge.

  • The connection between the valve and the protected organ must not have any type of constriction and should be as short as possible to avoid reducing the discharge flow rate of the valve: the cross-sectional area of the connection must be greater than the area of the valve orifice.

During installation, tighten the valve with a torque wrench, using the hexagonal part of the nut. Apply a maximum torque of 60 Nm, paying attention not to cause deformations: it is prohibited to use pliers, tongs, hammers or other tools that are not the hexagonal wrench. Check that there are no obstructions in either the inlet orifice or the shutter due to adhesives, Teflon or similar materials that could cause the shutter or other functional components to stick. In case of valve replacement, it is mandatory to previously discharge the compressed air contained in the installation. The manufacturer declines all responsibility for damages caused to people and/or property due to non-compliance with the instructions contained in this text. Normal wear and tear, handling and improper use exempt the manufacturer from any liability.

Maintenance, Inspection

The valve must not receive impacts that cause its deformation. It is mandatory to have the safety valve's operation checked at least once a year, exclusively by specialized personnel. For this reason, storage should not exceed six months. For valves equipped with a ring, with the pressure at 80-90% of the calibration value, pull on it and release it immediately afterwards. During the test, the valve must open without difficulty, discharging air and close immediately upon releasing the ring. It is mandatory to proceed with care because these operations can pose dangers if adequate safety measures are not taken, such as wearing glasses, earplugs and anything necessary to protect against noise, air jets, etc., discharged by the valve. For safety valves mod. TA15 and TA21, which have a high air capacity, in addition to the above, it is advisable to maintain an appropriate safety distance and protect yourself with a protective shield to avoid the strong airflow hitting the person.
