The Siemens Industry Automation Division extends its range of PROFIBUS modules Simatic PC adapter USB PC Adapter A2. The external adapter USB (Universal Serial Bus) allows links personal computers, laptops or systems programming units such as Profibus Simatic S7 controllers via its USB 2.0 port. The A2 USB PC Adapter allows connection of programming devices, laptop or PC with a USB port for Simatic S7 controllers. The connection can be established by using either the MPI (Multi Point Interface) or Puerto Profibus Simatic S7 systems for the diagnosis or commissioning. The adapter comes with three LEDs (light emitting diodes) to display the signal states of operation. The adapter has conplug and play technology to the extreme simplicity of installation and commissioning. Profibus data rates up to 12 Mbit, Windows operating systems XP SP2 and USB V1.1, V2.0 and V3.0 are supported. The adapter is powered through the USB port of the PC system. The new device can also be used for the same software than its predecessor. Applications created for the previous model can be used with the new adapter.
