Photoelectric Proximity Switch

A photoelectric proximity switch is an electronic device that detects the presence or absence of an object without physical contact.

It works by emitting a beam of light and detecting the reflection of that light. When an object enters the sensing range, it interrupts the light beam, triggering the switch to change state.

  • Advantages:
  • Non-contact operation, reducing wear and tear on moving parts.
  • High sensitivity, capable of detecting small objects.
  • Reliable performance in dusty or dirty environments.

Photoelectric proximity switches are widely used in various applications, including:

  • Automation and robotics
  • Packaging and conveyor systems
  • Machine guarding
  • Level sensing
