Photoelectric Sensor

A photoelectric sensor is a device that converts light energy into electrical energy. It works by using the photoelectric effect, which is the emission of electrons from a material when it is exposed to light.

There are two main types of photoelectric sensors: photovoltaic and photoconductive.

• Photovoltaic sensors generate electricity directly from light. They consist of a semiconductor material that produces a voltage when exposed to light.
• Photoconductive sensors change their electrical resistance when exposed to light. The amount of resistance change is proportional to the intensity of the light.
