Photoelectric Retro-Reflective Sensor

A photoelectric retro-reflective sensor is a type of sensor that uses light to detect the presence or absence of an object. It works by emitting a beam of light and then detecting the reflected light from the object.

The sensor consists of two main components: a light source (LED) and a photodetector (phototransistor). The LED emits a beam of light that is directed towards a retro-reflective target. When an object enters the path of the light beam, some of the light is reflected back to the photodetector.

The photodetector converts the reflected light into an electrical signal. This signal can then be used to control various devices or systems, such as alarms, motors, or conveyor belts.
