Sika® Unitherm® Steel W-120

Sika® Unitherm® Steel W-120 is a waterborne fire protection coating for steel components inside buildings. Sika® Unitherm® Steel W-120 is very fast drying and mechanically highly resistant. Under the influence of heat, Sika® Unitherm® Steel W-120 forms a thermally insulating layer and thus increases the fire resistance of steel components.

Intended Use

Sika® Unitherm® Steel W-120 is intended for use by commercial fabricators only.

Applications

• Increasing the fire resistance duration of steel beams, tension and compression members inside buildings (including open halls).

Limitations

• Excluded are lightweight steel constructions and components exposed to constant wetness, frequently occurring and for a longer period of time very high humidity or highly aggressive gases.
• In case of critical loads, e.g. frequent condensation or heating of surfaces > +45°C, special measures may have to be taken.
• In permanently dry rooms, the coating varnish can be omitted.
