RESITANCE SNUBBER

RESITANCE SNUBBER

Resistance Snubber

A resistance snubber is a simple circuit used to protect electronic components from voltage spikes and transients.

It consists of a resistor and a capacitor connected in parallel across the load or component being protected. When a voltage spike occurs, the capacitor charges rapidly and discharges through the resistor, effectively dampening the spike and preventing damage to the sensitive component.

  • Resistors are used to limit current flow during transients.
  • Capacitors store energy and release it quickly to absorb voltage spikes.
