MASS FORK, DAMPER JOINT, TMD

Vehicle Suspension Components

This document describes three key components commonly found in vehicle suspension systems:

Mass Fork

The mass fork is a structural component that connects the wheel hub to the suspension strut. It typically consists of two arms that form a "fork" shape, hence the name. The mass fork helps to transfer forces between the wheel and the suspension system.

Damper Joint

The damper joint, also known as a shock absorber mount, connects the damper (shock absorber) to the vehicle's chassis. It allows for controlled movement of the damper while absorbing vibrations and impacts.

TMD (Torsional Vibration Damper)

A TMD is a device designed to reduce torsional vibrations in the drivetrain. It consists of a mass attached to a spring and damper system, which counteracts unwanted oscillations in the engine or transmission.
