CURRENT SLIP RING CONNECTION

CURRENT SLIP RING CONNECTION

Slip Ring Current Connection

The slip ring current connection is a type of electrical connection used in rotating machinery, such as generators and motors. It allows for the transmission of power between a stationary part (stator) and a rotating part (rotor).

The slip rings are conductive rings mounted on the rotor shaft. They make contact with stationary brushes, which are connected to the external electrical circuit. As the rotor rotates, the brushes maintain contact with the slip rings, allowing for a continuous flow of current.

  • Advantages:
  • Simple and reliable design.
  • Suitable for high-power applications.
  • Can handle varying rotational speeds.
