Castrol Optigear Synthetic X

Castrol Optigear Synthetic X are high performance synthetic hydrocarbon based gear oils. They contain the special Microflux Trans technology (MFT) with PD additives (plastic deformation), which optimise friction partner surfaces and reduce wear.

Microflux Trans Technology

The effect of the MFT PD technology significantly exceeds the effect of classic EP additives. If there is enough activation energy in the lubrication gap due to high temperature and/or load, the MFT-PD additive is activated and is able to smooth surface roughness without generating additional wear.

The smoothed surface provides optimum wear protection and an extremely low coefficient of friction, especially in applications subject to extremely high pressure loads, shock loads, vibrations and/or low speeds.

Specifications

Castrol Optigear Synthetic X are CLP-HC gear oils, marked according to DIN 51502 and exceed the minimum requirements for CLP gear oils according to DIN 51517-3 (2003).

Applications

Castrol Optigear Synthetic X can be used in spur, bevel and planetary gearboxes, as well as in gearboxes with high loads, e.g. main gearboxes in wind turbines. It is also suitable for the lubrication of rolling bearings with oil lubrication.
