BRAKE MODULE

BRAKE MODULE

The brake module is a critical component of any vehicle's braking system. It houses the hydraulic components responsible for converting the driver's input from the brake pedal into mechanical force that actuates the brakes.

Brake modules typically consist of:

  • Master cylinder: Generates hydraulic pressure when the brake pedal is depressed.
  • Wheel cylinders or calipers: Convert hydraulic pressure into mechanical force to apply the brakes at each wheel.
  • Proportioning valve: Distributes hydraulic pressure between the front and rear axles to ensure proper braking balance.
  • Brake lines and hoses: Carry hydraulic fluid from the master cylinder to the wheel cylinders or calipers.
