Compact I/O Power Supplies

The compact I/O power supplies (1769-PA2, -PB2, -PA4, -PB4, -PS120) provide 5 Vdc and 24 Vdc power to compact I/O modules. They include a power supply module in each bank of compact I/O modules (unless the modules are connected directly to a MicroLogix 800/1500 base unit).

Up to eight I/O modules can be installed on either side of the power supply, for a maximum of 16 modules, within the power supply's load capacity. The 1769 compact I/O power supplies distribute power from either side of the power supply.

Power Distribution Example

For example, a 5 Vdc to 2 A power supply can provide 1 A to the right side of the power supply and 1 A to the left side, or 2 A in one direction. The maximum amount of current that the system supports in one direction is 2 A at 5 Vdc and 1 A at 24 Vdc.
