Fault Detector PCE-FD 20

Fault Detector PCE-FD 20

Ultrasonic Flaw Detector for Material Testing

The PCE-FD 20 flaw detector is used for material testing. One of the applications of the flaw detector is to check work materials for cracks, fissures, recesses, etc. The flaw detector is also suitable for checking weld seams. Ultrasonic measurement allows for non-destructive measurements. In addition to detecting flaws, it can also measure the depth at which they are located. The boundary between two different materials, with a different density and characteristic impedance, causes the ultrasound to bounce back. The different probes send the ultrasonic waves through the material. One of the probes has the characteristic of sending the wave at an angle of 90°, while the other does it at an angle of 45°. Once the ultrasonic wave is sent, you can determine the thickness of the material, check weld seams and locate flaws. The negligible weight of 250 g allows you to take the device anywhere. You can adjust the frequency between 1 and 10 MHz. You can also adjust the speed of ultrasound between 1000 and 9999 m/s.
