Gill Propeller Anemometer

The Gill Propeller Anemometer is a precision single-axis wind measurement instrument.

The Gill Propeller Anemometer utilizes a fast-response helical propeller and a high-quality tach-generator transducer to produce a DC voltage that is linearly proportional to the air speed. Air flow from any direction can be measured, however, the propeller responds only to the component of airflow that is parallel to its axis of rotation.

Off-axis response closely approximates a cosine curve with the appropriate polarity; with perpendicular airflow, the propeller does not rotate. The output signal is suitable for a wide range of signal converters and data logging devices.

The standard model 27106 with expanded polystyrene (EPS) propeller offers maximum sensitivity at low wind speeds.
