Lightning Conductor

A lightning conductor is a metal rod or wire that is placed on top of a structure to protect it from lightning strikes. It works by providing a path of least resistance for the electrical current from a lightning bolt to travel to the ground.

When a lightning bolt strikes the conductor, the electricity flows down the rod and into the ground through a grounding wire. This prevents the electricity from traveling through the structure itself, which could cause damage or even start a fire.
