Types Available

Siemens offers the following types of automatic disconnect switches:

• Type B: Offers an instantaneous short-circuit response level of 3 - 5 x normal rated current, making it suitable for circuits with moderate input currents, such as incandescent lamps, heating loads, and small/domestic building protection applications.
• Type C: Offers a short-circuit response level of 5 - 10 x rated current, making them suitable for circuits with high input currents, such as motor control and fluorescent lighting installations in industrial buildings, where noise could cause incorrect tripping if a faster type were used.
• Type D: Designed for high input loads. Magnetic trip point of 10 to 20 times the rating. Thermal trip point of 1.13 to 1.45 of the protection index.
• AC Type: Ensures tripping against sinusoidal alternating currents, regardless of whether they are fast-acting or increase slowly.
