Sika® Unitherm® Steel S Exterior is a fast-drying, thin-layer fire protection coating system for steel components in interior* and exterior areas of buildings. Sika® Unitherm® Steel S Exterior forms a thermally insulating layer when exposed to heat, thus increasing the fire resistance of steel components such as columns or beams.
APPLICATIONSika® Unitherm® Steel S Exterior is intended for use by commercial fabricators only. Highly efficient protection to increase the fire resistance duration of steel components such as columns, beams or trusses in the exterior of buildings exposed to weathering and high humidity (maritime environment).
* Use for steel components in the interior of buildings, as long as no proof of use for occupied rooms is required by national building regulations (e.g. AgBB). Note: In case of critical loads, e.g. frequent condensation or heating of surfaces > + 45°C, special measures may have to be taken.
In permanently dry rooms, the top coat may be omitted unless a decorative finish is desired.
