Use Standard Abrasives Felt Polishing Disc in the final step of a sequence, to give a mirror finish to a variety of metals including aluminium, brass and chrome.
Our responsive felt polishing discs are made of non-woven felt fibres, which are soft and pliable like cotton. These spongy felt fibres stop the abrasive from gouging or denting the substrate. The gaps between the fibres allow swarf to escape, an added benefit that prevents the abrasive from clogging with debris, helping to extend the useful life of the abrasive.
They give a light scratch and only need light pressure, allowing operators to achieve a good finish, with minimal exertion and fatigue. They’re used for the final finish, sealing the job after use of more aggressive abrasive – especially when working on a rough or scratched metal part.
Use our discs on aluminium, brass, stainless steel, chrome and other metals. A buffing compound can be added to help smooth out the surface. The gaps between non-woven fibres on the discs help hold the compound and distribute the substance evenly over the surface.
They’re available in a range of sizes and the smaller of these polishing discs are useful for working on tight and hard to reach surface areas.
The Quick Change TS and TR fastening systems with our discs help make processing easier, with easy disc swap outs. TS is a standard metal eyelet and TR is a nylon threaded male (screw type) hub. Once the disc is attached to its matching holder pad, it can be used with a rotary tool.
